Drostanolone Propionate
DHT-derived AAS with anti-estrogenic properties; non-aromatizable
Mechanism of Action
Drostanolone is a DHT derivative (2α-methyl-DHT) that is non-aromatizable due to the lack of the 3-keto-4-ene structure required for aromatase interaction. The 2α-methyl modification increases anabolic activity relative to DHT while maintaining non-aromatizable properties. Unique among AAS, drostanolone demonstrates mild anti-estrogenic activity, potentially by competing with estradiol for SHBG binding, reducing free estradiol. The propionate ester provides rapid release (2-3 day half-life). Studied for lean tissue preservation during caloric deficit and for its anti-estrogenic properties.
