Mechanism of Action

Gonadorelin binds to transmembrane GnRH receptors on pituitary gonadotrophic cells. In a pulsatile manner, this binding stimulates the synthesis and secretion of luteinizing hormone (LH) and, to a lesser extent, follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH). Conversely, continuous administration can lead to the desensitization of these receptors, resulting in a negative feedback effect on gonadotropin secretion.
