Testosterone Enanthate
Primary endogenous androgen esterified for sustained depot release
Mechanism of Action
Testosterone enanthate is an esterified form of testosterone. After intramuscular injection, the enanthate ester is slowly hydrolyzed, releasing free testosterone. Testosterone diffuses into cells and binds to the androgen receptor (AR), forming a complex that translocates to the nucleus and modulates gene transcription via androgen response elements (AREs). Downstream effects include increased protein synthesis, nitrogen retention, erythropoiesis via erythropoietin stimulation, and suppression of endogenous gonadotropins (LH/FSH) via negative feedback at the hypothalamic-pituitary axis.
