Testolone (RAD-140)
Potent non-steroidal SARM with neuroprotective properties
Mechanism of Action
Testolone (RAD-140) is a potent non-steroidal SARM with high affinity and selectivity for the androgen receptor. In preclinical models, RAD-140 demonstrates anabolic effects in skeletal muscle comparable to testosterone with significantly reduced androgenic activity in the prostate and seminal vesicles. Unique among SARMs, RAD-140 has shown neuroprotective effects in preclinical models of neurodegeneration, potentially via AR-mediated signaling in neurons. The compound does not aromatize and does not undergo 5-alpha reduction. Clinical development has explored applications in breast cancer (AR-positive) and muscle wasting conditions, though human clinical data remains limited.
