YK-11

Steroidal SARM inducing follistatin; myostatin pathway modulator

Mechanism of Action

YK-11 is a synthetic steroidal compound (derivatized from DHT backbone) classified as a SARM, though its primary mechanism is distinct from conventional non-steroidal SARMs. YK-11 acts as a partial AR agonist but uniquely induces expression of follistatin (FST), a myostatin (GDF-8) antagonist. Myostatin is a negative regulator of muscle mass; by increasing follistatin, YK-11 may promote skeletal muscle hypertrophy via dual AR-mediated and myostatin-inhibition pathways. This mechanism is supported by in vitro data showing increased myogenic differentiation in C2C12 myoblasts. No human clinical trials have been conducted as of current data.

YK-11 vs RAD-140: Evidence-Based Comparison

6 min

Selective Androgen Receptor Modulators (SARMs) are a class of therapeutic compounds with similar anabolic properties to anabolic steroids but with reduced androgenic activity. This article compares YK-11 and RAD-140 (Testolone), two of the most potent compounds currently discussed in sports pharmaco

5 min

Testolone (RAD-140) is a potent, non-steroidal selective androgen receptor modulator (SARM) originally developed by Radius Health, Inc. It was designed to overcome the limitations of conventional androgen therapy, such as prostate enlargement and virilization, by exhibiting high tissue selectivity.

Andarine (also known as S-4 or GTx-007) is an early-generation, nonsteroidal selective androgen receptor modulator (SARM) belonging to the aryl propionamide class. Developed initially for the treatment of conditions such as muscle wasting and osteoporosis, Andarine demonstrates high affinity for the
